It's All About You!
Can you guess where it is yet?
Hello, welcome to the IAAY Guidelines page. IAAY gives creative people of any standing (amateur or professional) the opportunity to talk a little about something that inspires you: a quote from a book or a piece of art or music for example.
I'd like a few words on this, then a few more on something you've created. You're free to say whatever you like about both. Aside from supply the quotes or pictures of what you're talking about, and some links to your website/blog etc, it's that simple. See the guidelines below for full details.
How you express yourself is entirely up to you: you can be straightforward and thoughtful, or delightfully OTT or you can create a story out of the whole thing. It's up to you. I'm not going to edit what's written unless it's really necessary, but that would be done in discussion with you, time permitting. Oh, yes, I'd love a photo of you, or a picture/logo that represents you if you're shy.
IAAY will be published every Wednesday, so keep an eye out for it, or follow me on twitter (@mickdavidson) for regular updates. Although there is no payment for this, what you do get is the chance to publicise yourself to hundreds of people who read my blog or follow me on Twitter and haven't met you before.
IAAY Guidelines
Contributors should supply the following:
1. Between 250 and 500 words about a favourite or inspiring work by someone else. This should explain why it inspires you.
2. You should supply the quote or work you are talking about.
3. Between 250 and 500 words about a piece of your own work (e.g., what you like about it, was it a struggle to write/create, does it relate to the piece that inspired you in Point 1?).
4. You should supply the quote or work you are talking about or links if you are talking about music.
5. Any links to books, websites, Twitter, Amazon etc for yourself.
6. A photo of yourself.
7. If you are talking about a piece of art, then a pic of the art work.
8. Optional: a link from your website/blog to your IAAY after it's been published.
